January 6th 2010, Day 1:
Here we are just about to take off for our New York City and Washington D.C. Vacation. This was the part that I was most worried for about the trip. I was so afraid that we would be the couple with the screaming baby and there would be nothing that we could do about it. However, that was not the case. Brooklyn did so good. She slept the whole first flight, and it didn't seem to bother her one bit. She really is an amazing baby and a great little traveler. Here we are just after touching down in New York City. Boy was it cold!! We had layers and layers on anytime we went outside.Brandon and Brooklyn all bundled up and getting ready to catch the metro. We had to go out the very night that we got there just to look around and explore New York. The metro was way, way dirty, but a slick way of getting around.Us with Brandon's brother Joseph. He was such an amazing tour guide!! He has lived in New York City for almost three years now. It was way nice of him to let us stay at his place and take off time from work to be with us.Our fellow traveling partners, my little sister Jessica and her husband Coby! I was so glad that they could come with us. (Coby is way excited to be in New York, as you can tell from his expression!) While walking around town we saw where they do the New York City Ballet and also the school, Juilliard.Couldn't resist taking a picture of my baby's name. Everyone kept smiling at her and then would ask us what her name was. When we would say it is Brooklyn, they looked at us like "what?!" Then they would say, "Like the Burrough?" Apparently it isn't as common of a name in New York as it is here in Utah. When we got back to Joseph's place we got all settled in. Since Brooklyn didn't have a crib we made one!!It seriously was perfect for her!! I thought it was so funny that she was so comfortable and fit so perfectly in the suit case.

What a FUN trip!!! I can't get over the suitcase crib- genius! Fun that Jess and Coby got to go too. I LOVE New York!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you guys took this trip!! It looks like so much fun! We love our shirts-- all of them! ;) That photo of Brandon and Brooklyn getting ready for the Metro is so cute! Her little face cracks me up! And such a good idea for her crib. You guys are great!
ReplyDeleteI hope you continue to have fun trip. Great idea with the suitcase! Ican't believe how big Brooklyn is getting. I think it's funny that a lot of people back there don't consider it a name. Looking forward to your next post.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a great trip. Always nice to be able to do it with family. It does look a little cold.
